Who Are We?

Who-Are-We

Hi! We are Craig and Diana Baker. Two people in love with each other, life, and most of all – our Daddy God!  We’ve had passionate hearts after the Lord for many years, but at the beginning of 2013 we were to begin what has been an accelerated transformation.

Jan 2013 – We both felt our hearts challenged – ‘were we prepared to give up everything for Him?’  Compared to the majority of the world’s population we had a very comfortable lifestyle, so there was much for us to consider giving up.  After some prayer and discussion together, we both resolved we would give up anything that was asked of us.  In fact, by Feb, the thought of having to give up everything was becoming exciting!  God had spoken to both of us about being more involved in mission work and we sensed this challenge was drawing us closer to that calling.

June 2013 – We were challenged to fast all distractions for a month (most of it technology and entertainment).  July was an amazing month – we had so much more time! This new found time led to more consistent time in the ‘secret place’ with our creator, a time of great heart understanding and the realisation of many biblical truths about God’s radical love, our created purpose and our identity in Christ.  Wow – it even led to us getting back into study!  July was so good we decided that the fast wasn’t just a fast, but a lifestyle change.  From then on it was ‘death to distractions’.

Oct 2013 – Our pastors at our local fellowship, the Lismore Christian Family Fellowship, ask us if we would be interested in overseeing discipleship in the congregation.  Helping equip every believer to fulfill their purpose and destiny was another passion of ours and this opportunity was giving us the freedom to seek God’s heart for what direction to take.  We were humbled and honoured to be considered for this role.

Dec 2013 – Plans were already in motion for taking long service leave late in 2014, but we were becoming more unsettled about our initial thoughts of a white Christmas and an extensive European indulgence. God was again stirring our hearts for missions involvement – so we sought His heart for what to do with our time off work.  The outcome of this seeking will stay hidden in our hearts at this stage but, God willing, all will be revealed in due time.

Welcome to 2014 and beyond, where things are just getting more exciting….  Follow this site’s journals to keep up with what Jesus is up to in our lives.   🙂
